11/07/2012  - Moors Win Top Award

Moors Youth were named Devon Community Standard Club of the Year at the Devon FA awards evening on July 11th.

Of many clubs nominated, Moors were short-listed with Feniton but Moors were announced the winners, but a well done must also go to Feniton FC for being short-listed also.

Chairman Matt Howe said: "This award goes to our great Committee, coaching staff and everyone involved behind the scenes. We have a great army of helpers at the club where everyone plays their part. The players should also be extremely proud of playing their part in the continued success of the club. We are a club where we believe that every child counts, they each receive an award and have their 'moment' in front of the club at our annual awards presentation. We also accept this award on behalf of all the people that have been part of the club in the past, we don't forget the time and effort they put in, in order for us to make the club what it is today."

Secretary Paul Hunt was also named Runner-Up in the Volunteer of the Year award category. "The amount of time Paul puts in for the is remarkable! The club has achieved big things over the past couple years and Paul has driven us in the right direction and he should be very proud of the award he received - in my eyes, he's a winner!" said Chairman Matt.

The guest of honour for the evening was Mike Mullarkey, who was the linesman in the 2010 World Cup Final, 2010 Champions League Final and was an official in the recent Euro 2012 Championships.
