Moors Presentation Day 2010
On Sunday 13th June Moors Youth held their annual awards presentation at
Moorhayes Community Centre. Once again the committee, in particular Paul Hunt,
excelled themselves in putting together a fantastic show for all the membership
to enjoy, with every child receiving an award in recognition for their
contribution to the football club.
On a superbly sunny day, over 90% of the membership were in attendance with
respective, parents, grandparents and siblings ready to applaud the many
achievements and accolades presented. Special mention and presentations were
also made for Jed Hewitt for his long service to the club, Mike Needs, who takes
his current U15's across to Elmore for next season and his many years of service
and to Lee Parsons who is stepping down as U10's coach having also served the
club for many years. Whilst recognising individuals generally it is as a team
that our success is measured and the 2009/2010 has to have been one of the most
productive with Moors Youth winning leagues and cups, runners-up and receiving fair play awards, an
award in itself displaying that not only are we competitive but our games are
played in the right spirit. After the presentation matches were played between
age groups and parents, which proved very competitive.
On a personal note, I was
thrilled to see such a great turnout from the membership and I would like to
thank all that played a part in it's success and also to our guest presenters,
Simon Harder, Andy Coles, Steve Rowland and Mike Taylor from Elmore, who gave up
their time so freely in making the event so memorable.
Finally to Gary Taylor, our official compere, a better presenter you would be
hard to find, for humour, good grace and vocal eloquence, I thank you.
